Dan is an experienced general counsel, business leader and advisor, tech entrepreneur, and climate activist. He helps select clients seeking to make a positive impact achieve their ambitious goals in a simple, creative, and cost effective manner.
Dan has served in leadership roles in multi-million dollar organizations ranging from an interim CEO, COO, and General Counsel, to helping launch and sell a successful tech startup to his most challenging role to date- a little league baseball coach. He provides trusted outside general, corporate and securities counsel services to non-profit and for profit clients from the global climate change non-profit founded and chaired by former Vice President of the United States, Al Gore, to tech startups and other businesses. Dan has managed an expedition to Antarctica with over 100 global business leaders, celebrities and scientists including Richard Branson, Ted Turner, Tommy Lee Jones, Christiana Figueres, and others, and an expedition to Jump City for his son’s birthday party. He provided legal and strategic counsel for a major documentary film - An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power - and for an Emmy nominated broadcast television special about climate change that reached 800 million homes in over 180 nations annually. Dan has served in leadership roles in federal and state politics from Deputy Chief Counsel to the DNCC for the Democratic National Convention and state and federal candidates to managing logistics for national and international press for a Presidential campaign.
UPDATED: CARES ACT- COVID-19 PAYCHECK PROTECTION PROGRAM APPLICATION RELEASED
On March 31, 2020, the Small Business Administration released the application form for businesses to apply for and obtain loans under the Paycheck Protection Program. This program, established under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), provides $349 billion for small business loans to cover qualified payroll costs; rent; utilities; and interest on mortgage and other debt obligations.
2019 COLORADO ELECTRIC VEHICLE BILLS ADVISORY
Colorado legislators introduced 10 noteworthy bills related to electric vehicles in the 2019 session, passing 5 of them, which have all been signed into law by Governor Polis.
NEW RULES FOR WORKER CLASSIFICATION: WHAT BUSINESSES AND NONPROFITS NEED TO KNOW
On January 1, 2020, a new salary basis test under the Fair Labor Standards Act will go into effect. The Colorado Department of Labor has also issued proposed rules raising the salary basis test in Colorado to be effective July 1, 2020.
